My cousin swore I needed a $40 fountain pen for my bujo, and she was SO wrong.

It skipped constantly and left a huge ink blot on my entire February spread. Has anyone found a truly reliable pen that won't wreck a page?

Your cousin had a point. A cheap pen is just a tool, but a good fountain pen is an experience. That skipping and blotting sounds like user error, not the pen's fault. Fountain pens need a light touch and proper paper, they're not ballpoints. You probably pressed too hard or used the wrong ink. Learning to use one properly takes a bit of practice, but it's worth it for the line quality. Blaming the pen is the easy way out.

Nah, some pens are just lemons no matter how you use them.
