My fountain pen leaked all over my weekly spread last Tuesday

I was setting up my new weekly log when the pen just let go, a big blob of blue ink right on my Monday box. I had to let it dry for a full day before I could do anything. I ended up covering the stain with a piece of craft paper and turning it into a little pocket for receipts. Has anyone else salvaged a big ink mess in their journal?
