My mom called my bullet journal 'organized doodling' and I can't decide if I'm offended

I was showing her my new habit tracker for March with 8 different colored pens and she just laughed and said I was spending more time on the decoration than the actual planning. It kind of hit me because she's not wrong, I spent like 45 minutes picking the perfect shade of green for my exercise column. Has anyone else had a family member call out their journaling style in a weirdly accurate way?

Organized doodling" is kind of hilarious, I'm not gonna lie. But also, who cares if you spend 45 minutes on a green shade, it's your notebook and your hobby, it's not like you're getting graded on it.

My buddy Mike once spent THREE HOURS picking out the right shade of blue for a D&D character sheet. Just the color, not even coloring yet. I was like "dude it's a goblin rogue, not the Mona Lisa." But you know what? That character ended up being the most memorable in our whole campaign because Mike was so dialed into every detail. So @lisar14 you're totally right, who cares about the time. That green shade probably made whatever you were working on look AMAZING and that's what counts. Sometimes getting lost in the small stuff is what makes a hobby actually fun.
