My trusty Lamy Safari nib just snapped off mid sentence during a 3 hour journaling session last night

I was filling out my weekly spread and the nib literally broke in half when I pressed down to dot an i. No idea if it was a defect or I just got too heavy handed after 4 years of daily use. I ended up finishing the page with a cheap Bic pen but the ink bled through everything. Anyone got a fix for this or should I just buy a whole new Safari?

That nib literally broke in half when I pressed down to dot an i" - my buddy had the exact same thing happen with his Safari last year. He said the plastic just gave out after years of normal use, no warning or anything. He ended up just buying a new one since the nib replacement cost nearly as much as the whole pen.

Yeah I heard those nibs are super fragile, bad design honestly.
