Spent 90 minutes trying to find a pen that didn't ghost through my new notebook
I bought this Leuchtturm1917 (you know, the fancy one everyone raves about) and grabbed a random ballpoint from my desk drawer. Every single page had these awful shadow lines showing through, and I spent an hour and a half testing different pens from my local Staples before finding a Uni-ball Signo that actually works. Has anyone else run into this issue with specific paper and pen combos taking forever to figure out?

My Leuchtturm1917 works fine with a Pilot G2 0.7. No ghosting at all. Maybe you just grabbed a crap pen from the start. Not the notebook's fault. 90 minutes sounds like you didn't know what you were looking for. Ballpoints are hit or miss. Try a gel pen next time before blaming the paper.

Right, because who doesn't love a 90 minute pen treasure hunt? I swear my desk drawer is a graveyard of "fine, I guess" ballpoints that bleed through everything except maybe cardboard. The Leuchtturm paper is such a diva about what ink it wants to play nice with. Like seriously, it's paper, calm down. You finally found a Signo though, so that's the real victory. Now you know for next time you feel like pulling your hair out over a notebook.
