Oh man, "letting go of the pressure" is the whole key right there. I have a graveyard of beautiful notebooks with exactly two days filled out because I tried to make it a perfect daily habit. Turns out I only have deep thoughts like, twice a month. Making myself write daily just made me feel guilty for having boring days.
Right? Who decided journals need daily entries anyway. @beth_baker69 is totally right about the guilt. My brain on a Tuesday is just "work sucked, ate cereal." Forcing myself to write that down feels pointless. Save the pages for when you actually have something to say. Otherwise it's just a chore.
