That $28 pen case was a total waste for my setup

I bought a fancy leather pen case in March to keep my 4 main markers and 2 pens organized in my daily carry bag, thinking it would stop the nibs from getting banged up. Turns out the slots are too tight, so I have to tug everything out, and one marker cap cracked after two weeks of commuting on the bus. Has anyone found a cheaper pencil pouch or a different style that actually protects stuff while still fitting flat in a tote?
