Tried a $2 pen vs a $12 pen for three months, the cheap one won every time
I know it sounds crazy but I ordered a pack of those Pilot G2s off Amazon for like 12 bucks for a 20 pack. My fancy Leuchtturm pen kept smudging on my weekly spreads and I got sick of it. The G2 writes smoother on the pages and I don't get ink bleeds like I did with the expensive one. Has anyone else found cheaper pens just work better for journaling than the pricey ones?

My buddy who's a graphic designer swore by those expensive pens for years and I totally bought into it. Bought a $15 pen from a specialty shop and it skipped on my cheap notebook paper, drove me nuts. Switched back to a box of Bic Cristals I had sitting around and honestly they wrote better on everything. I always thought price meant quality with pens but this experience showed me it's more about what the pen and paper actually do together.

Read an article saying fancy pens need smooth paper to work right.
