Unpopular opinion: that fancy dot grid notebook from Barnes and Noble almost killed my whole journaling habit
I was at a Barnes and Noble in Portland last fall and grabbed one of those $28 dotted notebooks with the thick paper, thinking it would fix my habit. Big mistake. The paper was so nice I got scared to mess it up, so I went 19 days without writing a single entry because every page felt too precious to ruin. My old $6 spiral notebook with plain lined paper never made me feel that way, and I filled 4 of those cheap ones in a row. So I switched back, and now I just draw a little grid down the side of the page with a ruler when I need one. Misses the point of a dot grid honestly, but my habit came back within a week. Anyone else have a notebook that was too nice to actually use? What did you do with the fancy one?
