Chatting with a retired USDA inspector at the county fair

He mentioned he always looked for a clean, dry work apron as a sign of good shop habits... not just the tools. It got me thinking about my own setup. What's one small detail you've changed that made a bigger difference than expected?

That clean apron thing makes sense, I read a similar tip about keeping a shop broom handy.

Honestly @lewis.charlie, that shop broom tip is a solid one. Tbh it reminds me of my grandad's old garage. He had a specific spot for his push broom, right by the door. You'd use it to sweep up grass clippings or sawdust and just hang it back up. Ngl, the floor was always clear, which made finding dropped nuts and bolts way easier.
