Had a day last spring where the cooler died on a Friday at 4 PM in Nashville

I lost three sides of prime beef and a whole lamb before I got the backup unit running. Still think we should keep a secondary cooler on site for emergencies instead of relying on repair guys who show up 4 hours later. Any of you run backup units full time or just when something breaks?

Oh wait hold on, you lost a whole lamb too? That's brutal. I mean losing prime beef is bad enough but a whole lamb, that's like a total gut punch. I've had a cooler go down before but it was just a few cases of chicken, nothing like that kind of loss. And yeah the repair guys showing up hours later is the worst part, by then the damage is already done. I don't run a backup full time but after hearing that I'm seriously rethinking it, even if it's just a small one for the high dollar stuff.

Pretty sure that was a whole pig actually not a lamb.
