Spent $400 on a new bone saw blade and it's like a different tool
The old one was getting dull and I was fighting through pork shoulders for weeks. I finally bit the bullet and got a high-tooth-count blade from a local supplier. The cut is so clean now, and I'm not sweating through my apron. Anyone have a good sharpening service they use for these, or is it just a replace-when-dull thing?

Honestly, that's a crazy price for a blade. I just sharpen mine for a fraction of the cost.

Heard some guys say a good sharpening service can bring a blade back like new a few times. Might be worth looking into before you drop another $400.

That's not really been my experience with sharpening services. I've had a couple good ones but the blade geometry changes over time and you can only take off so much metal before it throws the whole balance off. By the third sharpen it's never the same and you end up with more vibration and a rougher cut. Sometimes you're better off just eating the cost on a fresh one.
