Oh man this reminds me of my buddy who runs a BBQ joint down in Austin. He had his smoker die on him during a brisket competition once and rigged up a whole fan system with a car battery and some dryer vents to keep the temp steady overnight. That zip tie and prayer method is basically a pro move at this point.
