Debate: should we terminate outdoor cables before or after pulling through the conduit?
I was on a job last Tuesday in Austin where the lead insisted on terminating all the RG6 ends before pulling through the conduit. He said it saves time and keeps connectors clean. But another crew I worked with last month argued you should always pull first and terminate after, because pre-terminated cables snag on every little burr inside the pipe. Which side has it right? Does anyone have a solid reason for doing it one way over the other?

Your lead is wrong. I've done this both ways and pulling pre-terminated RG6 through conduit is asking for trouble. Those connectors catch on every little burr and coupling lip. You end up tearing the fitting off or damaging the cable jacket. It's way cleaner to pull the raw cable, then terminate after. Yeah it takes an extra five minutes on the back end but beats redoing half the runs because the connectors got mangled inside the pipe.

Wait wouldn't pre-terminated cables just get chewed up by the inside of the conduit? Every time I've tried pulling prefab ends through pipe they get hung up on fittings and you end up having to cut and redo half of them anyway.
