Found out the average house has over 2 miles of cable in it
I was reading an old trade magazine at the dentist and saw that stat, which just blew my mind. I guess it makes sense when you add up all the coax, ethernet, and phone lines, but it still feels like a lot. Anyone else run into a fact about our job that made you stop and think?

Ryanprice has a point, but I bet they counted all the low voltage wire for doorbells and security systems too.

That's a wild number but I have to wonder how they even measured it. Are they counting every single wire in the walls, even the ones that aren't used anymore? A lot of that cable is probably old phone line that hasn't been touched in a decade. It sounds more like a fun fact than something that actually matters for our work. Makes you question where these stats come from sometimes.
