Had an older customer back in 2018 who taught me something about coaxial cable
I was installing cable in a retirement complex in St. Petersburg and this gentleman in his 80s watched me work for about ten minutes. He pointed at the cheap compression fittings I was using and said, "Son, you're gonna be back here in six months doing that job again." He was right because I swapped to better fittings the next week and haven't had a callback on that building since. Anyone else had a customer give them a tip that actually improved your work?

Had a similar thing happen with an old timer who watched me terminate some RG6 and told me I was stripping too much jacket off. Looked him dead in the eye and asked how he knew that. Turns out he worked for the phone company back when everything was hardline and swore by the 1/4 inch rule for braid exposure. What specific kind of fittings did that guy point you toward?

Gotta respect the old school knowledge @gavine41, even if they make you feel like a rookie lmao.
