Heads up on those new plastic wall plates from the big supplier

Had a job in Tempe last week where the screw posts snapped off during a normal install, leaving the coax jack loose. The plastic felt way too brittle compared to the old ones. Anyone else run into this batch being faulty?

Was it the white ones with the super glossy finish? I had the EXACT same thing happen on three different plates in one house. The plastic just crumbled like a cracker when I tried to tighten the screw. It's not just a bad batch, the whole material formula feels cheaper now. They're cutting corners and it's going to cost them when every tech starts complaining. I ended up going back to my truck for some old stock plates to finish the job.

Tell me about it. I snapped the corner clean off a beige one last week just trying to get the faceplate flush. Felt like trying to screw into a stale saltine cracker. My whole new box of them has that same brittle, shiny feel you're talking about.
