Hit 500 terminations in one day last week and honestly thought I'd hate it but the rhythm actually made the shift fly by.
Tbh I always avoided production line work because I thought it would be mind numbing but after doing a big apartment complex job with 500 cat6 runs terminated in under 10 hours I actually enjoyed the flow and now I'm wondering if I've been too picky about what jobs I take, anyone else surprised themselves by liking a job they swore they'd hate?

Wait, 500 cat6 terminations in under 10 hours? That's insane, I thought I was fast but that's a whole different level of clicking the punch tool. Honestly, the rhythm of it sounds kind of satisfying once you get in the zone, like muscle memory takes over and your brain just floats. Makes me wonder what else I've been writing off too quickly without actually trying.

Start by admitting you were wrong because I was the exact same way. Spent years turning my nose up at high volume punch downs thinking it was for cable monkeys or whatever. Then got stuck on a hotel job where we had to do 300 jacks in two days and ended up finding that stupid rhythm you're talking about. It's almost hypnotic once your hand learns the motion and you stop thinking about each individual termination. Made me realize half the jobs I avoided were probably fine, I just had a bad attitude about looking beneath me. Wonder how many other easy gigs I talked myself out of for no good reason.
