I thought those new push-fit coax connectors were just a gimmick until last month

For years, I stuck with crimp connectors, thinking the push-fit ones were a cheap shortcut that would fail. Then I had a job in a tight attic space in Phoenix last month where my crimp tool just would not fit at the right angle. The homeowner had a pack of those push-fit ones in his garage, so I tried one out of pure need. I was sure it would have a bad signal or pop off, but I tested it with my meter and it was perfect, even after some light tugging. It saved me probably an hour of fighting with that cramped spot. Now I keep a few in my bag for those impossible corners. Has anyone else had a good run with them, or did I just get lucky that one time?

Swore by crimps for a decade. Had the same exact moment in a crawl space last year. They hold up fine if you prep the cable right. My only gripe is the price per unit, but they save so much time on those nightmare jobs.

Actually the price per crimp has dropped a lot lately. I got a box of 100 for under twenty bucks at the supply house last month. Still saves a ton of time in tight spots.
