Old timer told me I was bending coax wrong for 5 years
Been doing residential installs for 12 years and always did a 90 degree bend at the ground block. Last month a guy from the phone company said I was stressing the jacket and should use a 2 inch sweep instead. Anyone else get corrected on something basic that made you feel like a rookie again?

Learned the hard way that using a power drill on a metal box without a ground prong sends a jolt through your elbow.

I gotta push back on that a little @gavine41. Learning the hard way usually means you didn't check if the circuit was live first, not that the ground prong was missing. If you're using a proper two-prong adapter or you've got a GFCI on that outlet, you shouldn't be getting zapped through your elbow regardless. That jolt means the metal box itself was energized, which is a bigger issue than the ground prong being gone. I've drilled into plenty of ungrounded boxes over the years and never got bit because I verified everything was dead or had a GFCI inline. So yeah, the ground prong helps, but the real lesson here is to test before you start drilling. That elbow shock was a warning, not just a missing prong story.
