Rant: I found a weird way to fish a line through a finished wall that actually worked

Got a call for a new drop in a finished living room, drywall was up and the stud bay was packed with insulation. My fish tape kept getting stuck. Out of frustration, I taped a small neodymium magnet to the end of my glow rod and used another magnet on the outside to pull it through the mess. It slid right past the insulation in about two minutes. Some guys say this is a hack and you should just cut a bigger hole, but it saved me a ton of time. Anyone else use magnets for tricky pulls?

Honestly, I always thought magnet tricks were kinda gimmicky. But seeing it work that fast on a packed bay is legit. Might have to grab some for the truck.

Get the right ones though, those cheap ones barely hold a paperclip.

My cheap harbor freight ones hold a socket set fine.
