Saw the difference between cheap coax and good coax after 2 years in the same house

I moved into this place in 2021 and just used the cable that came with the modem. Signal was always kinda flaky but I figured it was the neighborhood. Last week I finally swapped in a proper RG6 quad shield I grabbed from the van (you know, the good stuff we use on jobs). Night and day difference. My upload speed went from 15 to 35 mbps. How much of a difference has wiring quality actually made for you guys on your own setups?

Oh man, don't get me started on cheap coax... I swear I spent two years blaming my ISP for my upload speed being a joke when it was really just that flimsy cable that came in the box. I finally swapped it out with some quad shield stuff my buddy gave me and my ping dropped from like 80 to 25 in online games. Felt like a total idiot, standing there with a nice router and a cable that looked like it belonged in a dollar store bin.

Stripped the ends off that cheap cable and saw the copper was barely there, more like aluminum painted brown. My dad always yelled at me for using the freebie cables with modems back in the day, told me they'd cause headaches. Now I'm the one checking every connection in my house like a madman.
