Shoutout to the coax staple that cost me 3 trips and 90 minutes on a Tuesday
Had a job in Mesa where the signal was dropping on one outlet and I figured it was a bad splitter, easy fix, in and out in 20. Two trips later I'm still chasing it, and by trip three I finally pull the wall plate and find one staple shot clean through the jacket about 4 inches up the stud. So here's my debate: is it worth stapling tight and neat on rough-in, or do you leave a little slack and let the drywall guys hate you? I've always been a tight-staple guy but this one ate 90 minutes of my Tuesday and made me look bad in front of the homeowner. Now I'm second guessing every run I've done this year. How do you all handle staples near the box, and has one ever come back to bite you on a callback?
