Switched from fish tape to glow rods for attic runs
Used to fight fish tape in blown insulation for years. Picked up a set of 4-foot glow rods last month and now I'm done in half the time. Anyone else make the switch and never look back?

Ha, you're using those glow rods with the threaded ends? (the ones that screw together) I had the same experience - fish tape was always getting hung up on the insulation, especially the loose fill stuff. The trick with glow rods is to twist them as you push, keeps the tip from snagging on the paper facing. I keep a set of 6-footers for the real deep attic runs where the blown stuff is piled up to the rafters.

Wait, are you saying I'm not supposed to use my arms like a windmill trying to push a fish tape through R-60 insulation?
