Warning: Homeowners who follow you into the basement

I was splicing some coax behind the furnace and the guy just stood there breathing down my neck. He kept asking if the dust was going to ruin his signal every time I moved. Ever had a customer hover so close you could feel them watching?

My last job had a homeowner trail me around asking if paint fumes could kill his pet fish.

Saw a thing online where a guy was convinced his new laminate flooring was off-gassing and poisoning his cat. He had the vet run all these tests, cat was fine, just old. People get these ideas stuck in their heads and can't let go. Makes you wonder if they're actually worried about the pet or just looking for something to control.

Steve, a friend from work, told me about this client in Burlington. The guy shadowed him into the crawl space and breathed so loud Steve could hear it over his drill. He asked every two minutes if the pipes were going to freeze because of the new hole (which, no, that's not how it works). Steve finally had to say he needed space to focus, and the guy just leaned against the wall and sighed. It added like an extra hour to the job, easy.
