My cat treated my cable ties like prey for 2 weeks, so I switched to a bread clip and it worked
Two weeks ago I finally cleaned up the mess behind my TV in my apartment in Tempe. I used about 40 black zip ties on everything, HDMI cables, the power strip, my console cords, all of it. Felt great for maybe 3 days. Then my cat Leo figured out the ties made a little crinkle sound when he bit them, and he started hunting them at 2 in the morning. By day 10 he had chewed through 9 of them and pulled my router cable loose during a ranked match. I was ready to give up until my neighbor Dana told me to try bread clips, the little plastic ones from a loaf. They snap off easy if you yank them but they stay put otherwise, and Leo has zero interest in them. I redid the whole setup last Saturday with maybe 15 bread clips and a roll of velcro. Has anyone else had a pet that sees your cable work as a toy?
Watched my roommate go through the same thing with her rabbit and phone charger cords, seems like every pet just picks one texture or sound to fixate on and nothing else matters. Bread clips are smart though, low key one of those fixes that costs nothing and works better than the fancy stuff.
