My zip tie stash failed me right when the TV wall mount needed it most

Last Saturday I finally hung the 55 inch TV in my living room and thought I had every cable tucked behind the drywall. But the velcro straps I bought from the dollar store snapped on the second pull, so I dug through my old bin and found a pack of zip ties from 2021 that were all brittle and cracking. I ended up using bread twist ties from the kitchen drawer just to get the HDMI and power cables separated enough to close the panel. Has anyone else had cheap straps give out at the worst moment, or do you keep a proper reusable wrap kit on hand?
