Spiral wrap is a trap for desk cables you unplug often

I kept spiral wrapping my phone charger and headphone cable at my desk and realized after 3 months they both got twisted and kinked at the ends from constant plugging in. Switched to velcro straps with a little slack loop at each port and it's way easier to swap things out. Has anyone else found a better method for cables that move around a lot?

Ugh, same thing killed my earbuds. Heard magnetic clips work better for this.
