Sticky cable clips vs screw anchors, my wall paid the price

I tried those adhesive cable clips on my desk setup in Austin about 3 months ago. They held fine for a week, then started peeling off one by one, leaving residue all over the baseboard. I thought the 3M ones were foolproof but the heat and humidity here killed the adhesive. Now I'm debating between drilling small anchors or going back to a simple cable sleeve on the floor. Has anyone else had adhesive clips fail after a few months, or did I just get a bad batch?

Man, adhesive clips are a gamble in humid climates. I've seen them fail on brand new paint jobs too, not just baseboards. The heat softens the glue and then they just slide off. Drilling small anchors is the only permanent fix, but you gotta patch the holes if you ever move. Honestly, a cable sleeve on the floor is way less headache than dealing with stuck-on residue. I'd go with the sleeve.
