That one guy who said my monitor cable was 'breathing'

Was at a LAN party in Denver last month and this dude walked past my setup, pointed at the sagging HDMI loop behind my monitor, and said 'that cable is breathing, it needs a brace'. Turned out he was right, the constant tiny wiggles were killing my port. I spent $4 on a VESA cable clip and it's been solid since. Anyone else had a random comment from a stranger fix their whole setup?
