The cable length stat in my desk rack spec sheet blew my mind
I was reading the manual for my 18U rack last weekend and saw the max recommended cable run for the patch bay. It said 15 feet for the ethernet runs to avoid signal loss. I always figured 25 feet was fine, that's what I used on my home server setup for 2 years. Turns out my switch placement was borderline the whole time. Anyone else find out their runs were too long after the fact? What do you use for cable length limits in tight setups?

Whoa, 15 feet is way shorter than I ever would've guessed! I've got a 20 foot run in my office right now that I'm suddenly side-eyeing.
