Zip tie velcro combo saved my desk setup in 20 minutes

My PC tower sits under a cheap IKEA desk. Cables everywhere, hanging down like spaghetti. Tried cable sleeves, those just slid around. Then I grabbed a pack of 100 zip ties and a roll of adhesive velcro strips from Home Depot for about 12 bucks. Anchored the power strip to the desk underside with velcro, then zip tied each cable run tight along the frame. Left one loop near the PC so I can unplug stuff without cutting ties. Took 20 minutes, zero cable visibility now. Anyone else tried this mix instead of those plastic raceway channels?

Is it weird that I used to think zip ties were only for, like, temporary fixes and that velcro was for people who couldn't commit to a setup? Yeah, I was that guy with the plastic raceway channels glued all over the place, and they looked worse than the cables they were hiding. But this combo you describe is actually genius because it's the first time I've seen both used for their strengths, not their weaknesses. The velcro gives you the easy off and on for the big stuff, and the zip ties make the messy runs look like a clean, solid bundle that doesn't shift. I just redid my own desk after reading this, and I gotta say, I was wrong to dismiss it before. The part about leaving an extra loop near the PC is the real pro move, I always had to cut ties just to swap out a USB cable.
