Dropped $22 on a 'heavy duty' plastic lunch tray for my fort and it snapped on day 2
I built tray forts all through 7th grade with the cheap styrofoam ones from the cafeteria line. Last week I got nostalgic and ordered a fancy thick plastic tray off a restaurant supply site for $22 plus shipping. I figured it would hold way more weight for a two story ramp setup. Day one was fine, I stacked 14 trays on it and it felt solid. Day two I put one milk carton on top and the corner just cracked right off. The cheap ones bend but they never fully break, so honestly the flimsy trays are the better build material. Has anyone else tried the thicker trays and had them fail faster than the normal ones?
