Pro tip: those stacked tray towers people brag about are heavier than you think
Honestly I measured one last Thursday in the Franklin High cafeteria and a 14 tray tower came out to almost 19 pounds. I got the number from the custodian, Mr. Alvarez, who keeps a little hanging scale on his cart because he got tired of kids asking. The trays themselves are around 9 ounces each, so the weight adds up way faster than you would guess. I watched a freshman build a tower up to his chin and when it tipped, it took out two chairs and a milk crate. Ngl the fiberglass ones slide better for ramps but they also shatter when they hit the floor, so the towers are the risky part. If you are gonna go tall, keep it under 10 trays and put the heavy corner ones at the bottom. Has anyone else weighed their build or am I the only one bugging the janitor about this?
