Bellows or no bellows on that old folder camera? Here's my take.

I had to pick between replacing the bellows on a 1940s Zeiss Nettar or just sealing the light leaks with liquid electrical tape... I went with the tape, figured it'd save 6 hours of work. It held for about 4 months, then pinholes showed up again. Now I'm wondering if I should have just coughed up the $40 for new bellows from the start. Has anyone else tried the tape route on a folding camera and had it actually last?

tape route" worked for me too, but I redid it every fall like clockwork.

Heard a buddy swear by the tape method but he never swapped it out and one year a mouse literally chewed through it and got into his engine bay. He said it wrecked some wiring and cost him like 400 bucks to fix. Now he does it every spring and fall without fail, just like you. Guess it's one of those things where you gotta stay on top of it or it backfires. Kinda like changing the oil filter, you know?
