Finally got that stuck shutter blade free on a Nikon FM

I've been wrestling with a Nikon FM for like three weeks now. The shutter blades were all gummed up and stuck halfway, and I tried everything - lighter fluid, compressed air, even left it sitting in isopropyl for a day. Finally yesterday I took a gamble with a tiny drop of Ronsonol on the pivot points and worked it open with a toothpick. Anyone else have a weird trick that ended up working where all the proper methods failed?

Lighter fluid fixes cameras and removes stubborn coffee stains apparently.

Wait, did you leave it in isopropyl for a full day? My buddy Matt tried that with his Pentax K1000 and the foam seals turned into literal goo. Ruined the whole mirror box. He finally got it working with a hairdryer and some WD-40, which everyone told him not to do. Speaking of weird fixes, @skylerg17 mentioned lighter fluid and I guess he wasn't kidding. Matt's camera still smells like a barbecue lighter three months later but it fires every time now.
