Had a guy bring in a 1972 Nikon F2 with a shutter that sounded like gravel

Spent three days cleaning out old grease and replacing a single bent curtain spring. When he picked it up and heard that crisp snap again, he actually got a bit emotional. Anyone else fix something recently that felt like bringing a piece of history back to life?

and @amy692 nailed it with that tube radio, same feeling hit me when I revived a 1957 Grundig console (which, by the way, had caps that looked like they'd been through a war). The owner's face lit up when that warm glow came back and the sound filled the room again, it's like you're giving a piece of someone's family a second chance at life. Honestly, those old mechanical fixes feel more rewarding than any new gear I've touched.

That's awesome. Just got my grandpa's old tube radio working last week. The hum was gone after I replaced two crusty capacitors, and hearing his big band station come through clear again... yeah, got me right in the feels.

That's such a cool way to remember him.
