Overheard a guy at the camera repair meetup say he never cleans shutter blades with alcohol
I was swapping stories with some folks at the Portland repair group last Thursday, and this older tech mentioned he only uses lighter fluid on sticky blades because alcohol leaves a residue that gums them up later. I've been using isopropyl for years... has anyone else switched to a different solvent for that?

I used to swear by alcohol too but this makes total sense honestly.
