Picked up a trick for cleaning fungus off lenses at a repair meetup in Portland last month

I went to this camera repair meetup at a community space downtown. One guy showed me how to wipe fungus off internal elements using a q-tip and hydrogen peroxide. Tried it on an old 50mm that had a little spot and it actually cleared up. Has anyone else tried this method or got another way that works?

Used to think peroxide would mess up coatings but this actually worked fine on my Minolta.

Peroxide's fine on most multicoated glass, it's the older single-coated lenses you gotta watch.

Exactly @ross.river, newer multicoated glass holds up way better than people give it credit for. Your mileage may vary with older single-coated lenses though, especially if the coatings are already flaking.
