Replaced a shutter ribbon with a guitar string, 3 week update

Broke down and ordered a proper part for an old Spotmatic last month, but the wait was killing me. Tried a 0.009 gauge string as a temporary fix just to test the mechanics. Thing has held up through 200+ actuations and I almost forgot it was in there. Anyone else MacGyver a fix that just refused to die?
