Serious question, a classic camera case flipped my view on off-brand pieces

I used to avoid non-official bits completely, but a client's old model had a broken shutter! Tracking down a similar part fixed it, and I now think they can be okay sometimes.

Yeah, third-party batteries are such a gamble. Bought one for an old camera that swelled up after six months. Learned to check reviews for that specific model, not just the brand. Sometimes it works out, but you gotta be ready to buy twice.
