Shoutout to the old timer who told me to freeze the focus ring on a stuck lens
Had a 24-70 come in last week with a focus ring that would not budge, and I was about to break out the strap wrench and risk cracking the barrel. A guy at the shop counter in Tucson told me to toss the lens in the freezer for 20 minutes in a ziplock, and the ring spun free by hand because the aluminum and rubber shrank at different rates. Anyone else got a temp trick like this, or is there a better way to free a ring without pulling the front element?
