Tried to replace a leaf shutter spring on an old Agfa and it took me 3 damn days

I figured it would be a quick 45 minute job swapping out that tiny spring on a 1950s Agfa Isolette. Turned out the spring I ordered was slightly too long and I spent the whole weekend filing it down and testing the timing. Has anyone else had a simple fix turn into a multi-day headache like that?

Dude, that 45 minute job turning into a whole weekend thing hits way too close to home. I feel your pain on those old Agfa leaf shutters, they're super finicky and one tiny spring can ruin your whole day. Tried to rebuild a vintage TLR once and ended up with three extra screws on my desk and a shutter that fired every time I sneezed lol. Props for getting that spring dialed in though.
