Went with JIS screwdrivers over standard Phillips for old Japanese cameras

I kept stripping screw heads on a Pentax Spotmatic until I finally bought a proper JIS set from Hozan for $12. Zero cam-out on the next disassembly. Have you guys found any other tools that make a big difference on specific brands?

Honestly, I gotta disagree a bit. I've been fixing old Nikons for years and never had stripping issues with regular Phillips if you're just careful and use the right size bit. People act like JIS is magic but it's more about technique than the tool. If you're torquing down like you're building a deck, yeah you'll strip anything.

Heard this tip from a camera repair forum years ago and it changed everything for me. My Yashica works so much better now with the right screwdrivers.
