Bought a $9 foam sleeping pad expecting trash for a Ouachita trip and it outdid my old $70 one
Picked up a cheap blue foam pad at a gas station outside Hot Springs before a 3 night trip in the Ouachitas, mostly because I forgot mine at home and figured I'd be miserable. Slept great all three nights on rocky ground that usually has me tossing around. It weighs almost nothing and I didn't care when it got mud all over it. Now I'm wondering if I've been overpaying for pads this whole time or if I just got lucky with the weather. Anyone else had a cheap piece of gear hold up better than the fancy stuff?
