Dropped $200 on a water filter pump for a week in the Adirondacks

Honestly, it was a total game changer. We had a big group and filtered over 20 liters a day with zero effort, no more squeezing bags. But my buddy says it's a waste of money and a simple gravity filter for $60 does the same job just slower. I think the speed and ease was worth every penny, especially with 6 people. What's your take on high-end filters versus the basic ones?

Spent a week with four guys using a gravity filter and we spent way too much time waiting around for it to drip. Upgraded to a pump for the next trip and it felt like a luxury item that actually saved us a ton of hassle, especially at the end of a long day when everyone was thirsty. For a big group, the speed is totally worth the extra cash in my book.

You waited for a gravity filter with four thirsty guys? That sounds like a special kind of torture! I'd have lost my mind just watching it drip, so the pump upgrade makes total sense. Speed is everything when the group is big and tired.
