Hit 100 nights in my tent last season and it changed how I pack
I kept a log of every camping trip last year and ended up at exactly 100 nights in my tent. That number hit me harder than I expected because it proved I'm not just a weekend warrior anymore. On one side, that many nights makes me think I should go ultralight and ditch everything extra. On the other side, comfort matters more when you're out that often, so maybe I should keep the bigger gear. Has anyone else tracked their nights and found it shifted what they prioritize in a pack?

Respectfully, I've been over 80 nights a season for the last 4 years and it's pushed me the opposite way... going ultralight just makes too many things fragile or too cramped for real comfort. A few extra ounces on a pad or a slightly bigger cook kit makes a huge difference when you're living out of a tent for weeks at a time. The real game changer for me was splitting it into two different setups - a big, comfortable base camp loadout for long stays and a stripped down kit for quick overnighters. Trying to find one perfect system for both just ended up with me being miserable carrying too much or too little.

Does the comfort difference actually matter after the first mile or is it all in camp?
