Just remembered ordering a tent from a catalog and waiting forever for it to come.

Man, that was a whole different kind of waiting. Now we get mad if it's not here in two days. It built a special kind of anticipation.

Back then, the JCPenney catalog meant a solid month of checking the mailbox... it was part of the fun. That slow burn anticipation is gone from so much now. We've swapped patience for speed in everything, from news to food delivery. It's weird how a simple wait could make an item feel more special once it finally showed up. I kind of miss that old pace, even if it was frustrating at the time.
