My camp stove regulator gave out at 8,000 feet last Saturday

Was making coffee at first light near Estes Park and the flame just sputtered and died. Replaced the whole thing with a cheap screw-on adaptor that afternoon, has anyone else had this happen with the old twist-lock models?

Same thing happened to my buddy on the Gnarled Trail last fall. Those twist-locks seem great till you get that one bad batch that just gives up. Makes you wonder how many little things we take for granted till they break at the worst time.

Hmm I gotta disagree a little bit here. I've been running the old twist-lock stoves for like 8 years now above 10,000 feet in the Sierra and never had one fail on me unless I was using that cheap white gas with additives. @the_robert might've just gotten unlucky with a bad batch but honestly I think people overtighten those things and crack the o-ring inside. Your mileage may vary of course but I've put mine through some serious abuse and it's still holding up fine.
