My old coleman stove went from useless to perfect after one cleaning

I pulled out my dad's old Coleman two burner from the garage last spring and it would barely hold a flame. The thing was sputtering and yellow and I figured it was just done for. After sitting there for probably 10 years without being used, I figured it was a lost cause. Then a buddy who camps a lot told me to take the generator tube apart and just clean the orifice with a piece of copper wire. I did that, blew out the whole fuel line with compressed air, and put it back together. Now it burns clean blue and boils water in about 4 minutes flat. The difference was night and day after maybe 30 minutes of work. Has anyone else resurrected old gear with a simple cleaning instead of tossing it?

Dude, my buddy did the same with his dad's old lantern and now it's his go-to for every trip, lol.

Exactly, "go-to for every trip" is how these things always play out. It's like once something proves itself solid, you just keep using it. I see that with my neighbor and his ancient cooler, same thing. It's funny how most people will spend years trying the newest, brightest gear, but the real winners are the old beat up things that just work.
